Example source code
Below, you'll find some example source code written for Blitz Basic. Handy for the beta testers, but since Blitz source files are plain text, you'll be able to read them and get an idea of the language's "feel" even if you're not a beta tester.
If you are a Blitz Basic beta tester and have some example
source code to submit, please send it to James (Blitz Basic Support) as a ZIP file containing everything needed to compile it. Also, please only submit clearly commented code (unless you have some really amazing demo of what Blitz can do ;) -- the main point is that it helps new users to get the idea!
For the sake of keeping this page in order -- and myself sane -- all submissions must include:
- Your name;
- Your email address;
- A short description of what the source does;
- The version of Blitz Basic used to code it.
Submissions without this information will be delayed or, if I'm in a bad mood, left to fester forever in my Downloads directory...from which nothing ever escapes!
If you encounter problems with any of these source examples, please mail the author directly by clicking on their name. They can then sort out any problems and re-submit if need be. You'll need a program like WinZIP to unpack the source code from these files.
File sizes are usually less than 10k, so don't be afraid to click (click on the descriptions to download). Large files (over 100k) are marked with their approximate sizes.
