You can now download the update which will bring your copy of Blitz to version 1.27. This applies to both the demo version and the commercial release!

Blitz Basic distributor, Guildhall Leisure Services, hopes to have the first run of Blitz CDs back from the duplicators this week (the delays are believed to be due to the Christmas rush!). Everything else is in place and ready to go!

Blitz Basic has been delayed by about a week due to delays at the CD duplicators. Guildhall should receive their shipment towards the end of next week. More specifics when we have them, and apologies for the delay!

New update (1.21) for Blitz Basic Public Demo (binaries only). Now with "include" ability (lets you include the contents of another source code file with the source you're working on, without cluttering up the editor -- please test thoroughly!).

Blitz Basic output capability has been added to Mike Wiering'sTile Studio! Tile Studio is a tile-based map designer which helps greatly in the development of platform games -- it even outputs the required Blitz code for you! Good to see third-party support coming in.

New binaries released -- these will upgrade the Public Demo 1.15 to version 1.17 (fixes two sound bugs as well as addressing a number of other important issues -- read the notes for more information).

· There's a known problem with the BBS at the moment, which will hopefully be fixed very soon!

Here it is, the one you've all been waiting for -- the Blitz Basic Public Demo 1.12 (click to download)!

To install, simply double-click the file after downloading.

Minimum recommended system:

  • DirectX 7 (Required)
  • 16MB RAM
  • Pentium 133
  • Internet Explorer 4
  • DirectX compatible Videocard with 2 MB RAM - 4 MB strongly recommended!

Of course, Blitz will run on slower systems, so don't be afraid to try!

Blitz Basic is now creating standalone executables! Despite a few teething troubles with the first test executable, it worked on all of the beta testers' PCs! Yaaayyyy!!!
